One of the best English pubs in town - excellent beer combined with perfect English-style furnishings and atmosphere. The pub is well located near to the historical piazza of Santa Maria Novella. A good place to conciliate your spirit for beer with your thirst of culture. Excellent Scottish beers, German Weiss und Czech Staropramen are served here. Many young travellers and inter-railers from all around the world come here to relax (It is close to the train station, to youth hostels and to many budget hotels).

This Irish pub offers a good choice of Irish beers, such as Guinness, Kilkenny, Harp, etc. The pub can be busy at times, as it is frequented by both Florentines, ex pats and tourists. The atmosphere inside is very good and it is possible to watch many of the important international sport events on satellite TV or sit outside on the patio.

Robin Hood. Via dell'Oriuolo 58/r, Florence.
As the name implies, this is an English pub which offers its customers simple, comfortable, old furnishing, good music and excellent beer. Often this place is not too crowded and for this reason it is a good place to spend an evening chatting the night away with friends and/or loved ones. There is satellite TV for international sports events, such as the Rugby World Cup.

Located in the charming setting of Via dei Renai, Zoe is a local haunt of many Florentines as well as foreign students and visitors. The place is trendy and features hip decor, friendly staff and good snacks and drinks. Music is often fairly loud and by midnight the crowd overflows onto the street outside. Zoe calls itself a caffetteria and, although coffee can be served, twenty-something Florentines flock here for the fine (and rather expensive) cocktails.

Elliot Braun is a bar, restaurant, pub and much more besides. Situated 10 minutes away from the main train station, is famous for serving one of the best aperitivo in town: pasta al ragu, pasticcio di cavolo, olive ascolane, antipasti misti and much more. The place also exhibits art and is home to several workshops. This place is well worth a visit if you wish to experience something alternative in Florence.
